From the 1st to 4th of December 2015, one of the members of the Chemical Youth team, Diana Pakasi, participated in the 2015 Australian Anthropological Society Conference hosted by the Melbourne University, Australia. The theme of the conference was “Moral Horizons” which discussed the pluralities of moral both in the anthropological endeavor and in the rapidly evolving world. Diana presented her paper at the session “Sex and the Field: Sex, Power, and the Production of Anthropological Knowledge” that addressed the moral complexity of fieldwork relationships, particularly the ways the gendered and sexualized selves interact and shape knowledge production through power relations.
